I am reading the book by Rebecca Skloot, the name of the book is the immortal life of henritta lacks. I don't really know how to classify this book, it isn't exactly a biography but it has some aspects of it. it tells the story from her current family member point of view and also how henritta herself may have lived it. this book is about a women, henritta lacks and her story of creating the first immortal human cells. Henritta is diagnosed with cervix cancer and scientists with out her consent cut some of it out and start to regrow the cells. these cells are still used today to help end cancer.
Kevin,
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a very interesting book, both from literary and scientific perspectives. I find that humanity always has a fascination with pursuing immortality. However, I have a brief question for you: is the book non-fiction?
