The Death Cure

I recently started reading The Death Cure by James Dashner. This book is the last book in The Maze Runner series. I haven't gotten that far into the book yet, but so far it's very promising. They encounter a character that was in the second book called "Rat Man" and he says that now they are in the final stage of finding a cure for the Flare. He tells them that they are going to get their memories restored, every last one. The bad news about getting their memories back is that Thomas, Teresa and Aris will be unable to communicate telepathically. Rat Man also tells them that some of them are not immune to the flare. As he reads of his list we find out that Newt is immune to the flare. Newt is okay with the fact that he isn't immune to the flare, even though everyone else is concerned for him. That is what has happened so far.
It starts out similarly to the first two books. What I mean by that is that they start out confusing. It’s like during the summer when I had to read The Book Thief. It takes determination to keep reading the book because it is moderately difficult to understand at first. It seems that books with confusing beginnings are reviewed well as shown with the Book Thief and To Kill a Mockingbird. Even though the beginning is confusing I keep reading because I want to see how the series ends.

  1. I enjoyed reading Maze Runner last year. I agree that this author in the beginning of his books leaves you feeling a bit confused. However by the end the reader figures out the plot. The Maze Runner is one of my top favorite books I have read in the past two years. I may pick The Death Cure as my next reading assignment- thanks for sharing. I enjoy imaging the characters, the setting and trying to figure out what the ending will be. I believe the most exciting part of reading Mr. Dashner's books is that he brings out a readersimagination and analytical thinking.
