So far 3 Willows is about three girls who used to be best friends. As they grew older however, they began to grow apart. They are all going through difficult times in their lives, some more difficult than others and are thinking a lot of their old friendship. Jo’s dad and mom are getting divorced, Polly’s mother is never home, and Ama has to go to an outdoor camp as her summer scholarship program when she really wanted something academic. The book is written in a good way because in the beginning especially in addition to the story they had what I guess could be called flashbacks, but were really like personal letters the girls were writing about their old friendship and how it was playing into their life now. The letters were from all different perspectives and were a really cool way to tell the story, because you got more information about their old friendship. The author is making a big deal about the old friendship of the three girls so I think it will become a big thing later on in the story. I also think that the three willow trees that the three girls planted together will become a bigger part of the story because I think those trees symbolize their friendship and I think that as the story goes on they will begin to symbolize more. So far it has been a really interesting book.
