Whiteout

Right now I am reading Whiteout by Ken Follet. The book takes place in modern times and shows a grim look on biochemical testing. The book starts off in the middle of winter in Scotland. As a strong blizzard approaches, a sample of a deadly virus goes missing, and it is the job of the main character to find where it is.

The main character’s name is Toni. An appropriate name for a tomboy such as herself. She is always on task, and ready to perform, whatever the duty may be. However, no matter how secure she seems on the outside, she is crawling with issues on the inside. Whether it is her odd colleagues, her crushing divorce, or her stressful job, she is always on edge. I predict that this will become a major issue for her as she tracks down the spread of this disease.

So far, the book is extremely interesting. It offers many different “on the edge of your seat” type moments. It also includes a very complicated storyline and intriguing set of characters. I am excited to see how the story will unfold
