Over the weekend I read part of the book The Roar pages 0-35. This book is set in the near future where the world is struck by a disease that made all of the animals go wild and kill every human they saw. London is the worlds’ last surviving city and is surrounded by a huge wall that guards the whole city. A very powerful scientist named Mal Gorman used small children for scientific tests that will later on be revealed. Ellie was one of those children she has a twin brother named Mika who somehow has something like a spiritual connection with Ellie. When Ellie escapes the space station where she trains with a real live animal everyone in the station is on high alert because she was heading back home to London and if the world found out that a live animal was snuck into London everyone will panic and this will cause much destruction and lots of riots. Mal Gorman regretted ever training Ellie to pilot a pod fighter because she took one and disabled all of the other ones in the hangar. When Mal Gorman finally gets some working pods he sends them to go destroy Ellie and the animal she has. Ellie has an animal named Puck who had brownish gold fur and a bright gold Mohawk on the top of his head. Mal Gorman sends some of his men to go and kill Ellie’s family in case she actually made it home to ensure that no one would find out. Ellie’s training is to good for the police and Gorman’s men and they can’t keep a eye on her long enough to get a clean shot on her, but then fatigue kicks in and her timing and reaction time slows down and one of the enemy pilots hits her pod and her and Puck go flying into a river.
