I am reading Love, Star Girl by Jerry Spinelli. It is about a girl named Stargirl who has moved from Arizona to Pennsylvania away from all her friends and her ex-boyfriend Leo. The thing is, is that she still likes her boyfriend. The book is a letter to him telling about her day, who she meets, and what events happened in her life. Dootsie is one of the girls she meets. Dootsie is five years old and has a very big imagination. She really likes playing with Stargirl and her rat, cinnamon . Dootsie and Stargirl also like to spend their time with Betty Lou. Betty Lou is a grown woman who has agoraphobia, which is a disease that makes people scared to go outside, but she is still very nice to Stargirl and Dootsie. Usually Stargirl and Dootie will go and visit Betty Lou and have donuts. There is also Alvina, she works at the donut shop and brings Betty Lou her donuts every week, since Betty Lou cant get them herself. Alvina is not very nice, but kids are not very nice to her either. She is also very violent. So far Stargirl has found lots of new friends in Pennsylvania.
