I recently read
Through My Eyes, an auto-biography about Tim Tebow and fighting through adversity. These instances included being told he couldn't play certain positions because he wasn't the right size, playing on high school athletic teams while being home-schooled, and being constantly criticized for his throwing motion and play style. He sets a good example for young athletes, and really all athletes, spending a lot of time donating and raising money for charities around the world, mostly orphanages. Tim also commits himself to working harder then everyone else, winning strength contests all four years in his time at Florida, and encouraging his teammates to work hard also. Lastly, he never blames his problems on other people, instead using it as motivation to work even harder.
I find this very interesting and good, for many current famous athletes don't do the right thing, and blame teammates and coaches for their problems. Also many of these athletes don't set a very good example for young athletes, wasting their money and not working very hard; only using their natural talents.
All in all, I think it is a pretty good book, if you can get around the constant talking about religion, that I would recommend to sports fans, as it is mostly about sports.
Sam, I've heard a lot about Tim Tebow and have a basic idea of his story, but hearing about this book makes me very interested and I know I want to learn more. Thanks!
