Gone With The Wind

I am further into Gone With The Wind, by Margaret Mitchell. Currently, Scarlett is devastated that the man she loves, Ashley Wilkes, is married to Melanie. In an effort to make him jealous, she marries Charles Hamilton, Melanie's brother. As the was has just started, Charles is killed. Scarlett gives birth to his baby, and falls into a depression. This depression of hers is more of a boredom, missing her days of freedom. She is not very sad about the loss of her husband, as she never really loved him. So she goes on an extended visit to Atlanta to fill her time. While there, she stays with Melanie and her family. Scarlett cannot stand Melanie, as she is married to Ashley.
