When You Reach Me
When You Reach Me, by Rebecca Stead, is suspenseful and continuously pulls the reader into the complicated plot. The book takes place in New York City in the late '70s. Miranda (the main character) is sent a note asking her to write down future events and to write down the location her spare key to her apartment. As the book progresses, Miranda receives three more notes with requests from an anonymous person. Miranda has to deal with finding independence within her and trying to repair a friendship with her best friend, Sal, after she notices Sal isn't talking to her. This book incorporates lessons of redemption, friendships, and finding yourself, even when you have to go through hard experiences. This was a really good book that keeps you reading and has a lot of mystery involved.

It is a really complicated plot! Did you ever feel like you were confused? I did! It wasn't until we talked about it in book club that I understood what was going on! Did you like Miranda? Sometimes she seemed a little young... what do you think?
ReplyDeleteAnneliese, I havn't read this book and now that I read this I am very persuaded to! It seems that it is one of those books that you just can't seem to put down. The main character Miranda seems like she is under much stress of figuring out who the person is sending her messages, and finding peace with her best friend Sal.
