The Hunger Games

I recently read the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger games takes place in a post-apocolyptic North America. It follows Katniss Everdeen as she volunteers to compete in the Hunger Games, an event where 24 children are forced to fight to the death. I personally saw the movie first and really enjoyed it. But when I read the book I was almost irritated. The movie left out so many crucial details that are included in the book, which made it not the same. However, so many of these details would have been impossible to fit into a movie such as Katniss’s flashbacks and thoughts. I would highly suggest this book to anyone and am currently reading Catching Fire, the sequal.
