The Hunger Games

I finally read the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins over break because the movie was coming out and now I know why everyone was telling me to read it. It's so good! There are tons of other posts about the Hunger Games on this blog, but I thought I would do one too. I thought Suzanne Collins did a really good job of creating an image in your head with her words. She would describe the arena and events with tons of detail, to the point that it felt like you were there. Also, when Katniss and Peeta first started the hunger games, it was hard to tell which one was going to win. I thought it would be Katniss because she's the main character. But then toward the end of the Hunger Games, a slight switch is made to the rules about the winners. So, it was shocking to find out who wins and it was sort of unexpected. I'm glad I finally read this book and saw the movie. If you haven't read it yet, you should. It's so intense!
