The Ear, The Eye and The Arm

Right now I am about two thirds through The Ear,The Eye and The Arm, a strange book about the adventures of three kids in futuristic Zimbabwe in the year 2194. The book starts with the three children of General Matsika leaving on a quest to earn a scout badge, and see the outside world they have never been exposed to. Soon after they leave they are kidnapped and brought to a former trash dump, that has been turned into a town, ruled by a giant woman known as the She-Elephant. The kids eventually escape, but end up in a strange place that has been created to preserve ancient African culture. They want to leave, but it ends up being much harder then just walking out. During the whole ordeal, General Matsika has hired the strangest three detectives possible, to find the children. The children continue their quest, but now their goal is to return home. As I am writing this, that is what has happened so far. So far I have enjoyed the book, It’s a good change of pace to the other books I have been reading lately. It’s really different than anything I can think of that I have read. If you are a fan of light-hearted adventure stories, you would probably enjoy this book.
