Many might look at the title and think for a moment; and suddenly realize that it is the name of a movie, one from the infamous 007 James Bond. The second bond movie ever made in fact. So why, might you ask, would I choose a title that many have seen in theaters for my final reading check. Surely than It must be cheating; yet the story of the movie "From Russia With Love," and the storyline of the novel, are as different as Math and English; or a Brendan Fraisure Movie.
The story is not so much about action, but espionage during the cold war. During the first half of the book, we get a small background of the much more adventurous second half. It is about a secret Russian organization by the name of SMERSH; an organization based on killing foreign spies. During the first half we meet the murderer,an Irish Communist by the name of Red Grant(code name Granite), and in the second half we meet Bond.
He is sent by M to Turkey where he meets the head of the Turkish secret service. He is then assigned to a soviet spy who even the Turk said was beautiful. At the point I'm at they had just boarded the Orient Express and have had the first real fight and of course, Bond won. I have still got quite a bit left in the book but I am exited to read the rest of it.
