I finished reading Mockingjay, the final book of The Hunger Games Trilogy about a week ago. Katniss wakes up and finds out that she is in District 13, which was believed to have been destroyed by the Capitol. She is informed of a rebellion that was planned for quite a bit of time at this point. It turns out everything in the second book's hunger games had been planned out so that the victors would escape. She is then encountered by the president of District 13, President Coin and she tells Katniss that she must be the face of the rebellion, the mockingjay. Katniss agrees to be the mockingjay on three conditions; all victors who have been captured have immunity, two she kills Snow and three her family gets to keep their cat. She sees that Peeta has been captured by the Capitol and she is told that they will try to rescue the captured victors. They return and before Katniss can even say Peeta's name his hands clamp around her neck. It turns out that Peeta's mind has been hijacked, which basically means that his memories have been changed. The doctors try to reverse the effects of the hijacking and they are successful. Near the end the rebels invade the capitol. Though it cost was the death of those close to Katniss President Snow was captured. When Katniss was going to shoot Snow she instead aims upward and shoots and kills President Coin. Snow is later found dead. Katniss returns to her home of Distinct 12. In the epilogue it is shown that Katniss and Peeta get married and have children. This concludes the Hunger Games Trilogy.
