Catching Fire

I am currently reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I am about halfway through the book and so far it is pretty slow. I have been told by numerous friends that this book is the best in the series, but that the beginning is slow. For example, the last book seemed to go a lot quicker with getting to the actual games and such. The reason I think Catching Fire is slower now is because they need to show how powerful the capital is compared to the districts and how they are on the edge of a revolt. I would highly recommend this series to any reader of any skill.

  1. I agree. I doted on all of the books in the Hunger Games series, but Catching Fire was my least favorite probably due to the fact that it was slower. I also didn't enjoy the romance part of the book where Katniss teetered from one person she loved to the other; that also impeded the book. However, try to brave this book a little bit more, because soon the book will start to accelerate and its pace will leap upward dramatically. Personally, however, the pains the slow first half of the book meted out on me transcended the happiness gained from the accelerated plot of the book, so I didn't like it as much as the other books. Overall, good review.
